High quality texture maps
« on: May 04, 2011, 04:21:31 PM »
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, I did a search to see but it came up with hundreds of results for texture maps.

I've used the textures from this site in a lot of my 3d renderings over the years.

Some of these are already used in Universe Sandbox. :)

Although I think I shrunk some of them down, so these may be of a higher resolution.

cool I thought some of the maps in US looked familiar.

because of US I'm currently working on an earth model in lightwave using some nice hi res maps.
It uses 4x 32K pixel maps for colour, specular, displacement and surface normals, it also uses volumetric hyper voxels for the atmosphere (just lightwaves fancy way of saying gas :))

I'll do a show and tell when I'm finished.
