I'm gonna start a worldbuilding/personal website
« on: February 15, 2017, 02:22:02 AM »
I'm making a new topic because this is serious business, I'm actually going to get it set up. What features should it have? Let's brainstorm.

I should be able to work my ass off on it from feb 19-25 (no school). I'll need to research a server host, and I am going to try and buy the server before or on Monday (the 20th). Yeah this is a tight time-frame but if I delay this too long then I'll forget about it. The sooner I start building momentum, the better.

Anyways, what are some features you'd like to see on a website to help facilitate worldbuilding / usf forum stuff?

you should have an upvote/downvote function except make it uptendy or downtendy because that's more exciting

jokes aside, a thing to reproject maps into any projection

1) what would my map projector offer that gprojector wouldn't (don't reinvent the wheel)
2) multiplayer map editor more like warlight where you color in zones or do you mean like a gimp/paint.net
3) revision editor sounds easy and doable, anything else you'd want from that?

1) yes but it may take dozens of hours to code so the trade off isn't in my favor when gprojector already provides a comprehensive solution

3) i suppose i could make it more like github, and you could merge specific areas of the image fork it etc

a map projector that keeps the lines aliased and looking nice would probably need vector graphics

Homepage finished and polished, random generator delayed until tomorrow; website will also be set up tomorrow, and as a treat I'll try throwing a minecraft skyblock server up as well.
