Newish map:

http://zoom.it/pTFg

I was unable to render a new map, so I just added the borders since Bla didn't.

Or we could destroy an unclaimed or unused island for fun. :P

There should be a thing where if someone has claimed a region, builds very little, and then leaves the game for a month+, that region can be repossessed, although the structures already erected are preserved

This would save a lot of land, because most players only come on for a day or two, claim a region, and then vanish

About the wither:

I was going to set up an area with a bunch of snow golems and iron golems to kill it efficiently before it does damage. no sure If it needs to be player killed to drop star.

Ruins the fun, no? :P It should be a server activity, not left up to friendly mobs that will try to kill it.

well of course, your buildings will be preserved in you go inactive, and if you plan on returning in the future the region can e preserved, but if we hand out hundred-thousand block regions to everyone who logs on for a day, soon any serious players will be 2+ kilometers from spawn , which is maybe why they quit in the first place

Yeah the blacraft continent is pretty jammed pack. The only remaining area on the continent now are out east of TME, Matolony and yqtlands.

So yqt what do you think of the idea of having underdeveloped and inactive regions being repossessed while preserving existing buildings :P

But nether routes are VWRY efficent, so it would be easy to travel long distances. for example, desertopia to oasis is 100 seconds tops, through the nether

I'm with that idea, and if the person is no longer active.

nether routes are nice but 10 seconds is better than 100 and the nether roads, while greatly improved, still aren't entirely pervasive and secure

Alternatively, in the future, we can get a plugin that will allow us to use warps or teleports. I know it's not 'legit', but when a server gets to a certain size, teleports and warps are going to have to be used for the long distances.

if we put all the buildings in this server together they would probably fit in 1/4th of a square kilometer instead of the 10 they currently fit in

You have to give me credit! Aahrus and Velgorod are some of the densest places on the server! Especially considering its recycled land from Darvince.

Anyways I'll bring up the recycling land idea to Bla. I'll also put in an argument for nether travel and settling of places outside of the current 5km boundary from spawn if he says that we should leave old land to people who aren't active.

Just for the sake of seeing just how dense the land is, I looked at the map for "corridors". Notable ones:
Spawntown, Epicland, Yukitown, Plaidania (well before Darvince raped it), Zuntriio, Matolony
Spawntown, Ampluterra, Spheron Rimlu, Desertopia
Spawntown, Kakotquake Cliff, Aahrus, Velgorod
Spawntown, Epicland, Bridgetown, Awesomeland, Revolution City, Geogaport
Spawntown, Blue Bay Center
Rift Auspikitan, Solea, Oasis City, Chromasheep Farms, Amazonis
Bongatar, Desertopia

Notable mostly empty regions:
Novascotchara
Tierra Salvaje
Quontia
Quonbla
Bohemia
South Riverfield
Kaministiquia
Verslest
Mudkipzania
Spheron Rimlu
Jungelot
Hondurah
Swamphold (although this is reserved for Bla for the future)
That region between me and kipz which has no name

So basically, anyone who owns any of the regions above better get excuses ready to protect your ownership to it before Bla decides to do something drastic. :P

I opened up Ampluterra to anyone who wanted to do anything with it. If there's no takers, then do whatever.
(Or leave it as a historical place of interest, I dunno)

Actually, Tierra Salvaje is meant to be a nature reserve kind of thing. The only major structure that I built there is an observation and forestry outpost. The structure at the corner of the rail route is a shelter I built for caving expeditions long before I made the territory. Besides, it's one of the more remote areas in your list.

Jace could take hondarah if he wishes to expand further.

On another note, I think that we should gather as many fireworks as we can, then on New Year's Day, have a massive fireworks show in Spawntown to commemorate 2013.
Any comments/opinions?

The thing is that the fireworks and firework stars are rather expensive.

I still like the idea though, might be a little awkward because of time zones OR we go by the ball drop in times square.

Also, for novascotchara, I had an idea for an ice fortress kind of thing, just putting that idea out there.

NO.
we go by 00:00 UTC

and why we need to have entire regions (at least, so many of them)? why we can't just have cities?

Well, it has some development I guess. Although in that regards it's more like Kaministiquia.

I count development as anything artificially made and not part of the natural terrain
