500 long tunnel. assuming 3x3 tunnel, no diagonals, that is 12x500=6000 sand.
diamond shovel 0.1 sec to dig sand, more like 0.2 due to aquiring time, 1200 seconds, 20 minutes.
6000 sand isn't much, about the quarry that was dug out to fit my building.

le, average desert, desertopia sized, with all the 1.0 biomes now, is about 40,000 sq m, assuming 4 deep sand, that is 160,000 sand. I don't think 6,000 sand, which amounts to 3.75%, will be very...undesertficty.

Which is also why I want to own the desert. This is one of the seasons I wanted all that iron. To be able to develop my area.

if you are in another biome, beaches have been removed. we'll use ponds. The average density of ponds, is about 1/3000 m^2. An area of 100,000 blocks leaves you with 33 lakes. assmuing the average lake is about 25 m^2, there is about 40 sand in that pond. 33*40=1320 sand ,not nearly enough. >

Oh, because there isn't enough sand to make glass? Don't worry about that. You can easily preserve deserts without making open quarries, all you have to give up is the top one block of sand. Just place cobble below it and take the rest. Then you can't see that you've mined it at all.
Spawntown will help with the glass ofc, and possibly Mudkipz though. That's why we have the treaty, we all help each other.

Do you want the blue area to be a seperate region or a part of Revolutea?
I think the area needs to be explored some more before I can draw the borders. I think I'll make another region containing the entire desert biome plus the land up to the river, which you can manage.

Please give me permission to terraform the chunky borders within your regions if you want it. We could make a chunky border terraforming treaty, maybe. Stage 0: No terraforming allowed. Stage 1: Mild terraforming allowed - even out the chunk corners and erode the cliffs slightly (like Earthquake Forest). Stage 2: Full terraform - DESTROY THE EVIL CHUNKYBORDERS!!!

I'd be Stage 0 only because I don't think I have any... and if I have any nearby (just west of Solea) I'll fix them myself, I just need to look for them.
