So for my lighthouse, I need a design for the glass capsule at the top. I have here schematics for lava, 'wafer' Netherrack, and glowstone. Not sure which one to go for though.

I suggest lava. I think that would look best.

I'm planning to build the lighthouse in Spawntown of glowstone from the first floor up, but then again, there should be something distinguishable at the top, probably, and a glass thing filled with lava sounds like a good idea for that.
If you want uniqueness from Spawntown's lighthouse, netherrack would be a good choice.

Or maybe just wafer. That sounds like an... Interesting... Material. I'd like to learn more about it.

Wafer isn't a material, it's just to describe the way the Netherrack is placed. I thought it sounded nice.

I'm also getting ideas of redstone controlled doors to shut off the light during day...

That'd be a lot of doors I think, and wouldn't the wiring and blocks with wire etc. block off all the light during day even without the doors?

I don't even think trapdoors alter the light. At least, the area below Ampluterra Outpost Station always seems extra light, also when the trapdoor is closed. It can only be sunlight, if it hasn't been changed since last time I noticed it.

The region? What about calling a municipality (smaller red area) within the yellow region The Capitol? I think "The Capitol" is a very big name for a region, which looks a bit like it is the capital of the entire planet. Regions should (in my opinion

) have more unique names. If you have a region named The Capitol, no one else can have a region named that, but there could still be multiple capitols in different states. I think it would be most fair not to have any regions with such names.

i went, to 3000, horizontal for 1200 and then back to 3000

and "huge" is a relative term
huge as in twice as big as the other too

Actually the word would be capital, as capitol is referring to a meeting place of large government groups i.e. congress.

Official definition:
1 a : a building in which a state legislative body meets b : a group of buildings in which the functions of state government are carried out.
