So if you haven't heard me complain on blacraft about my mansion you probably haven't been on this much. I cleared out a hill and other things...it was a pain. It's also a huge drain on resources but I am offering everyone to occupy a room. You have two options:
Option 1: Build it yourself!
Well you can come to Alteus and pick out the room and build it yourself - I have resources in the three chests that you can use, anything else either ask or bring yourself (I will reimburse if reasonable - if you use beacons for your walls...no) I will also pay two diamonds because frankly I don't know what to do with the rooms nor do I want to build them all.

Option 2: Tell me what you want
I need a few things here: floor level (1st or 2nd until those fill up) floor block, wall blocks, roof block and have me build it. Again nothing too expensive. I will add some furniture as well, if you want something.

List thus far:
atomic7732: option 1 complete, floor 2
Floor: Quartz and lapis
roof: Spruce
Walls: Spruce, Stonebrick and Lapis

bong: option 1 completish, floor 1
no clue

darvince: option 1: eh not even close floor 2
no clue

yqt1001: option 1?: floor in place floor 2
floor: Birch
wall: Brick and stained clay

smjjames: option 2:
sandstone (nothing else specified)

Please tell me either on blacraft or in this thread your choices :)

Darvince...I tore that down. Please make an actual room not art. Keep in mind there will eventually be a third story above you so...no. If you want to design an actual room that is fine, but please don't just screw around in my mansion.

i'm confused is the mansion built and we can personalize a room or do we all create a room and it'll conglomerate together as a mansion.

anyways i'll take floor 2 if it's open or floor 1 if it's not.

walls: cactus/endstone
floor/ceil: stained clay

The outline for the mansion is done and you get to pick a room, outlined by cobble. It'll be part of the mansion. Floor 2 has one room left including kip's room.

yeah um...I tried. Cactus are dumb so I removed that. You have some cactus decorations inside your room though...

Code: [Select]
a practical guide to tnt use on the battleground

rules
defenders cannot use it to deliberately lower terrain
flag cannot be destroyed with tnt
tnt cannons
wastes tnt, destroys terrain, inaccurate, easily destroyed
don't do it
if you must: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ADJWPDe6X0&feature=youtu.be&t=4s
blowing up players
expensive compared with a sword or a bow
don't do it
blowing up the ground
defenders
against the rule
don't do it
attackers
if it's not a hill
you're making it harder to walk
don't do it
if it is a hill
you should be replacing the flag instead of blowing holes
don't do it
blowing up walls
defenders
you want walls
don't do it
attackers
if the wall is a stumbling point
use just enough to remove the wall and don't make a huge crater
if you can just mine an entrance instead
blowing it up opens you to arrow fire from far away
don't do it

Why did you even have TNT in the chest then? Should have said no to the TNT from the start and Bla said TNT was fine.

I brought the TNT and I said TNT was fine, I didn't recommend people to use it. I didn't use any TNT in the battle because I didn't really find any use for it.

Anyway, video of the battle is up:

You're missing one kill of TMC by me via explosion, I think someone died by a fire I set, someone died from geting shot, and there was one other maybe.

Kind of had to get creative a few times because I couldn't get kills in using sword.

Well that was a fun first ever battleground battle :P

With the statistics revealed, it didn't occur to me that I killed both kipz and bla 15 times and yet died only 15 times myself.... can't imagine how that feels, I thought I died way to much, and that wasn't even just to one person. :o

Anyways, I so rarely get a chance to see my fights from another angle that I decided it's worth going over how they went today. It's so rare to see this perspective in my hundreds of hours of minecraft pvping, that it's always so cool to see how little movements I make really matter in clutch fights. :) Here it goes...

As far as how I'd rate my performance, it was pretty good considering the lag. I can't complain. I was disastrous with bows as always, but definitely tried my best to use the bow (TMC apparently used 1/4 the arrows I did). I'm getting better with them, definitely. Melee-wise I only really got "wrecked" (though TMC likes to point out that I take the term very loosely, as I don't really get wrecked anymore) in two 1v1s. One was in the water with kipz, he had the obvious reach advantage but I was able to strafe out of the problem and ended up winning. Another was with bla and I can't really find it in the recording, it obviously wasn't as bad as I thought. The terrain was pretty harsh (no thanks to smj) and I could see that it really affected the performance of some people. Bong went by the books pvp and didn't play at his best as far as I could tell. I must admit though, the structures and terrain made for interesting fighting.

I wish I was recording so I could see my perspective of this fight though. I can't imagine what was going through my head to make me act so weirdly (watch my head, it happens quickly). Atomic recorded his perspective with our skype call, so I'll be able to listen to what I was saying at least.

I think Skype was a huge advantage for us, communicating by text is slow and inefficient. Even though bong refuses to speak, it's still a saviour when one of us notices and shouts "BLA IS TAKING DOWN THE FLAG" right as its happening giving us plenty of time to fight back.

we should do a /butcher mob wipe when 1.8 comes out.

there's this bug where chicken jockeys spawn, the zombie despawns, and the chicken runs around laying eggs. zombies pick up the egg and don't despawn, which means mob count only ever goes up. 1.8 makes chicken jockeys not drop eggs
