I got a new comp. a while ago with windows 7 and i had to re download US.  Now i cant seem to download systems from the forums.    Everything else works fine but i cant load any new systems.  Any suggestions to try?  Probable causes?  Thanks in advance

Can't you download them or can't you load them?
If you can't download them from the internet, it's a problem with something blocking it, probably a Firewall, Antivirus or... I don't know, but it has nothing to do with Universe Sandbox then.
If you can't load them, I would guess that the downloaded files haven't been placed in the right folder, this might be the case if you don't see the systems in the menu. If you see them in the menu in the program but can't load them in there, that's probably not the problem.
The files should on Windows 7 be placed in:

C:\Users\<User>\Documents\Universe Sandbox\Systems

Also shown as:

[Folder icon] ► <Username> ► Documents ► Universe Sandbox ► Systems

i think they are on my comp. but they dont show up on the My Systems list.

Check if they are in the right folder (the path I showed above). If they aren't, try moving them into that place.

Okay thanks.  they were in the wrong spot.  all fixed now.

I'm sorry you had trouble. This complicated procedure will be simplified in version 2.
