Changing direction

I see how to change the speed of an object, but I can't seem to change direction. The velocity and angular direction pop back to the original values as soon as I click off that numeric field. Am I missing something obvious?

I can confirm that I can't change the parameters on the angular direction, but velocity I am able to adjust as desired.
