The amount of points you may assign to your car is based on how many points it had at the end of the previous season. Actually how about making a GUI implementing basically Gran Turismo 6's stuff but with cars and tracks from Universalis that lets us race on them online, that'd be great kthxbai.

kol once upon a time i wanted to make a top down racing formula universalis game

i still do but it's probably never going to happen (good ai seem rather difficult), and i'd rather code soleani cyclone center (which is only slightly more likely)

it's not 100% complete but it's like 90% complete and it works



some things i still need to do:
- add the starting grid "penalties" (if you start toward the back it takes you time to get to the start finish and begin lap 1, currently the race viewer doesn't know this so the results on the viewer might actually be a bit different from in the results text file)
- have the starting lineup immediately when you begin the race (this will require rewriting the python script that generates the output files, so this can only happen from season 3 onward)
- add a pitting status so you can tell when people are pitting
- color personal and race best laps (not really a priority)
- let you know that the race is over (right now time just keeps ticking and there's really no indication the race is over until you realize nothing is updating, and who knows maybe it's broken and the race isn't actually over)
- after i get all of the above done, i'm thinking of making a visualizer of some sort, probably not a track map but maybe like a line indicating the length of one lap and some dots with the driver numbers over it showing where they are throughout a lap

is there anything else i'm missing?

also if you don't like your team's color just let me know what it should be

i see no use in waiting really... i just have to make one update to the script (print out starting lineup to the output file) and we can qualify for the first race in Teralm...

shall we?

some ideas for the viewer with the help of fiah:
- add option to set the speed of time (currently 10x)
- add the ability to pause
- user-tracked drivers with a checkbox or something
- you have to refresh the page after a race is over to watch another, make it not be like that
