This happened

I have had universe sandbox 2 for quite a long time now
But suddenly, For some reson, When i launched it with steam, It preformed a first time setup even though I have played the game before

It hasnt done any complications - It didnt get wiped or anything (I still have my custom bodies) But still, Why did this happen?

I think it is just an issue with Steam itself. I sometimes have to do 'First time setup' for other Steam games as well. Could be that the install was corrupted or replaced with an update. No need for alarm though.

has happened multiple times to me over the past few months.  No problems, I think it's just  Steam update of their file data.

Yes, in fact this has basically no effect as the required files are already there, but Steam might think they aren't so it tries to reinstall it anyway.
