Gravity no work in extreme cases
« on: January 10, 2016, 02:24:45 PM »
Whenever I planets, or stars get close to each other, moving at a fast rate, the gravity mechanics go haywire and whatever was being drawn towards the object with more mass, they shoot out in a random direction, and go in a straight line forever. Nothing stops them, or curves them. I've even tried to stop them by putting lots of VY Canis Majoris' in front of them, but they just go through it, and never stop. How to recreate this:
1) Open up a normal solar system simulation. Go to add, select the sun, and be sure it's set on orbit.
2) while the sim is running, place the sun in jupiter, or saturns orbit. Speed up time, but be ready to slow it down quickly.
3) After the suns have wrapped around each other a couple of times, slow time down, and place another sun in between them. Now, they should start to move funny.
4) Eventually, the planets should get near a sun and wrap around it, only to be thrown straight in any direction, and nothing stops them, or changes their path.

That's how I make it work, you might have to try this a few times.
