this is probably the best world-making free online software that's available because it actually simulates simple plate tectonics - i.e. what actually makes up earth - instead of a fractal with perlin noise and a color scheme applied over it

What exactly is wrong with DonJon? It seems decently accurate to me. Rivers come from mountains, mountains form into ranges, deserts disappear as water level and ice level go up.

I see where you're coming from. I think Experilous' Worldbuilder is better at that sort of stuff

One thing that bugs me about donjon is that volcanoes don't form.

But at least the labeling system is pretty fine.
