A soon to come...Psi Cofilii System. Did creat it via US 1 with an accretion disk technique....trying to work on moons and here we see one of the dwarf planet in that system with is moons....the only thing i did need to change was the mass of the main moon...it was too big for it to work with that dwarf planet lol

Here's my attempt at the Cyrannus Star System from Battlestar Galactica.  It's a four star double-binary system with 12 habitable worlds.  I've tried to make it as canon as possible to the show.
I managed to get city lights on all 12 worlds (and 1 habitable moon)... just make sure you start the simulation paused, and increase the temperature on all planets to a habitable range (say 12 Celsius) before clicking play... for some reason when starting the sim all planets revert to -200 Celsius, which will kill the city lights. Enjoy!

This is the Gawhim system. It features a red supergiant orbited by several subsystems.

There are the Hanimaiz III/Finimaiz III binary planets with their moons Han and Fin.
The Uncur/Asdane binary planets have a somewhat tilted sub orbit and the Rhigalla system with Ropaud, Opigat and Ginto makes for a binary star although Rhigalla can't be compared really to Gawhim.

I recommend starting the sim paused, setting the temperature of every planet to around 15°C and their magnetic fields to something around 2.4 radii or bigger. (remember you have to switch "show magnetosphere" to on while you set the radius in the materials tab. Once it is set you can turn that option off again.) I usually set the "Magnetic Pole Angle to something around 12° to 35° but that's just me.

For the planets in the Rhigalla subsystem you may need to adjust the "Radius turning factor" to something lower to stop the mass loss. I sometimes had to set it as low as 0.2xxxxx, not sure why exactly.

Running the sim faster than at a timestep of around 2 days/second may still cause breakouts or tidal heating effects and the moons Han and Fin might crash or escape after holding their orbits for some several thousand years peacefully.

All in all it is not completely stable yet and I have to figure out some variables to fix that. As you can see, part of it held for 121,059 years at timesteps of <2.5 days/sec.

Let me know what you think of it and feel free to experiment/improve.

I've spent roughly an hour designing this system.
It's an eleven planet system with quite a lot of moons. The planet Meranna is supposed to be earth-like in terms of habitability, but seeing as planet temperatures are not recorded in the current saving system, it's not.

The image is still quite large, but it's as small as I can get it.

Hello and welcome Aurellia. When loading your saved simulation, do it via the advanced menu (the pen symbol) and select "start paused". You can then set the temperatures manually to what they are supposed to be.
The planets will eventually return to their original temperature without that but it will take time and may have side effects.
It's also rather important to set up a magnetosphere, so the planet doesn't lose it's atmosphere over time. The magnetosphere currently needs to be set manually after loading as well and settings only work if you turn on "Show Magnetosphere" before you change the values.

Not to criticize but in the last one, Venus would look much bigger, assuming that the FOV is normal, and not near-panoramic

This is a screenshot of an actual in game collision (screenshot taken a mater of a few km from earth right before impact) I was using ground view.

Hm...Field of view must be off, because I know I've collided Venus with earth and stood on Earth's surface and Venus was much bigger in the sky...

Define "Planets with life".
If you mean they look green then sure, but life isn't in the game yet. You can have a planet that looks green but that's just because of the atmosphere.

City Lights are completely random. If you want a planet with them I'd suggest spawning around 30-50 planets in the habitial zone of a star and then saving the ones with lights.

The Efrago Black Hole.
Plenty of stars orbiting. Typically the cooler stars are in the outer area and the hotter stars are in the inner area.
NOTE: Don't forget to start it paused and turn off collisions. I also usually turn off labels and trails. but that's just me.

Seems in the 17b Alpha version "Open my Simulation folder" has no effect when I click on it.  Not sure what I am doing wrong.  Running on Ubuntu 14.04 variant (Mint 17.1 "Rebeccah")  I know I could probably find the ubox items via the operating system, but that just seems....so crass....

Thanks for letting us know. We'll look into that.
On Linux these are typicall filepath issues, so it won't be hard to fix.
