[PROBLEM] Low Performance.
« on: October 13, 2014, 08:58:12 AM »
Unfortunately my performance in US2 are really low.
I get 19-20 FPS with no objects in the scenario.
And with an object is lowered in the FPS 11-12.
Collisions also send very small freeze in the game :-\  but in Alpha 6 was 30 fps stable.
Here is my log file and my graphic card:
graphic card: mobile intel r 4 series express chipset family.
Thanks for support  :)

I don't want to sound blunt, but that Mobile Intel 4 series chipset graphics card (integrated), is very weak for a simulator like this. I am guessing it's a laptop because of the "Mobile" in the name? However, that does not mean you can't run US2.

There is still some optimization to take of, so it could improve for you in the future. If Giant Army begins to add more complicated computations to the game in the future, it may take more power to run it. Or it could be the complete opposite (hopefully it runs better).

As a side note, have you ever thought of buying a desktop PC? One that specifically plays games? If you bought a gaming PC (it doesn't need to be outrageous), you wouldn't have to worry so much about performance in games, as it will have more backbone when it comes to running them.

Hmm, 50 euros is pretty cheap for a computer. It's no wonder it doesn't work well.
I don't think it's a problem with the graphics cards, I'm more than certain it's your processors.

If I were you I'd buy the "Intel Pentium G3258", which is $70.

If it's a laptop, I am sorry to say that you can't upgrade the graphics card in them. The GPU in a laptop is part of the motherboard, soldered to the metal. Unfortunately, you're stuck with what you've got. :/

That's why I mentioned saving up for a desktop. But anyway... don't fret though, there is still plenty of things left for Dan and the team to optimize and improve for Universe Sandbox.

Well, (of course, not to be blunt) with a computer this weak, I don't think it's practical to optimize down to this level.

But at the state of optimization now, you should be thankful you can even run it =P
