Moons all the Same Color?
« on: August 13, 2014, 09:03:55 AM »
I didn't notice this until this morning. After messing around with moons in a simulation, I noticed that all the moons take on the same color, the texture is different, but the same color. Our moon's texture seems to be unaffected. I loaded a pre-made simulation to make sure it wasn't the climate simulation making things glitchy. The moons in the Jupiter & Moons simulations also have the same color (like Lo, Dione, Rhea, etc). Same with the Saturn & Moons simulation. All moons large enough to be spherical have the same color.

Is this a bug, or intentional? Here is a screen shot.

I think it's a bug, where the water level is too high, and since there's no sun in your simulation, all the water is now ice.

I placed two suns, then put the moons in the middle (the other is off screen). The moons stayed the same even with two suns in the simulation. What used to be ice looks like water now. But again, they all take on the same color except our moon.

even 0.04% water is enough to make a planet 100% covered on water
