The Earthquake
« on: April 07, 2010, 05:41:00 PM »
One day, I was sitting on a bench in the park, and I got up to get a snack from the snack machine. But, while I was going to the snack machine, I felt a vibration. I wondered what it was that was making the ground vibrate. Then, I put a quarter in the snack machine, and the ground shook beneath my feet, making me fall and drop my quarter. The ground shook harder than the park could withstand, and that was a sign of an earthquake. The shaking eventually made a crack appear and destroy the park. I could not move because I hurt so badly, and I screamed for help. The earthquake nearly killed me like a lion stalking its prey. My hand got chopped off by the shaking and cracking, and I screamed because of the pain. I nearly died, and I wish I wasn’t here when it happened.
After the earthquake passed away like a dying lion, eventually a doctor found me trapped in a crack, and they rushed me to the hospital. I couldn’t make out any object in my eyes, and it felt like I could get blind any minute now. My sight came back eventually, and I was in the hospital, and I had a new hand, an artificial hand. It felt like a normal hand, and it moved as fast as a normal hand too. I had lots of casts on too, and I was happy to be alive. I went down stairs slowly, and I saw my parents there. They were glad to see me, because they wondered if I died or not. I went to the park to see the destruction, and I hated this “lion” of an earthquake. Most people died in the park, but I lived to tell the story.
A few years later, the town was fixed and I lived my normal life, and I was perfectly fine—well, except for my artificial hand. I was one of the few people to live, and I was happy to be alive.

it actually only shook for like a fraction of a second. i also heard a faint sound which sounded kind of like when something really heavy is dropped from a small height. i wasn't sure if it was an earthquake or if my neighbor was taking a sledgehammer to the wall or something. i was in bed but already awake so it fortunately didn't interrupt my great dreams

yeah, well, the art industry begs to differ. pretty much all art in museums makes me laugh with how expensive they are for what you get, and people actually buy that shit!
