Too much gas changes the visibility of Moon
« on: August 09, 2014, 01:52:52 PM »
I found this bug that appears to be the texture of a gas giant on the picture of the moon.
What I did was add a lot of CO2 and this automatically happened.
I think this happened because this amount of gas classifies it as a gas giant instead of a moon.

EDIT: After posting this I looked back at the stats and it indeed is classified as a Gas Giant.

Hi, good friend, this is not a bug, it was purposely put in the game and even being very unrealistic yet here it is.
I do not know whether or not to take it.
And even if it is a bug this bug has already been posted over and over again in the forum.
Obg bye friend

It is a bug.

I also realized, the texture is not distorted by adding Co²

no, it isn't, what you are seeing here is an automated generation of a blurry texture to mimic the transition to a gaz giant... after you added "a lot of CO2". Maybe the coulors aren't realistic, but try it on the earth or on mars, the same thing will happen

Yes, the developers said they were working on a more realistic way to simulate a planet turning into a gas giant, other than just blurring the texture.

yup, currently the transitions occur by blurring the texture.

I think GA has done this since it seemed to be the most logical thing at the time. Because, you know, nobody's seen a terrestrial planet grow into a gas giant?

I think that they should add more elements/particles for us to use, like more types of gas so that the color of the gas giant would be dependent on the gases that make up the atmosphere. Either that or just have a color slider.
