The panama disease is a fungi that is caused by the fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum which targets one individual plant the Cavendish in this case and once the pathogen infects the Cavendish there is no time to stop it and all of the Cavendish's will cease existence
The first incident happened in 1950's which the banana's aren't exactly what they looked like right now. The banana that was infected was called Gros Michel it was a thicker and sweeter kind of banana and now it's a banana that is really rare because of the panama disease
i wanna share this to you because a new strain of the panama disease is identified and our banana now days aka the Cavendish might cease existence
