Why is death feared?
Because we don't know what is after life.

So? Being afraid of something that you don't know is the definition of "unsuccessful species".

it's natural that you're afraid of something you don't know
where did you get the definition of an unsuccessful species? i think an unsuccessful species would be one that didn't exist

It's evolutionarily beneficial to be afraid of something you don't know, because if that something decides to kill you, then you being afraid of it means you'll survive and be able to produce more children.

But humans have evolved otherwise. If we were afraid of everything we didn't know about, we'd still be below the Bronze Age.

just because you're afraid doesnt mean you can't do it
ie. if youre afraid of water you can still go in it

No they haven't. There's a difference between things that are part of the "scary" unknown (things we know we can't control, things in the dark) and that which we can make known. For inventing fire, if someone on the savanna got really bored and rubbed together two logs for a while, a fire would start and he would've jumped back in surprise and told his tribe about it. The scientific one among them would've tested it while being cautious, and then that tribe would begin to use fire.

Just so no one's alarmed, Ebola is really Really REALLY hard to catch. You have to be in direct contact with fluid from someone infected. And even at that point you have a fairly low chance of getting it, simply by washing your hands. It has to touch a mucous membrane in your body like your nose, eyes, mouth, ext.

The ebola epidemic almost over, with only 100 people being monitored for catching ebola in Sierra Leone. There are currently no people with ebolavirus.

but simultaneously,,
"On 15 September some slowdown of EVD cases was noted by the WHO in DRC, however contact tracing continues to be below 100%, currently at 89%."

I'm more worried about the fly in the meth lab. Maybe meth is the cure. I do live in public housing is the scary thing...I'm not talking about the west africans from the West End, my dears...I'm just wondering if the conditions...we do have an African woman here....I hope her relatives are back home. She doesn't speak a word of English...or French, so I can't even tell her which floor I want on the elevator. The guy that helps run the local convenience store is African, too, I think, but I hope he gets it because no one likes him and he was yelling at the Middle Eastern employee in whatever language...she was so humiliated...no one likes him...God protect her...the gods...fate...whatever you want to call it. The Turk protect her. I like the Turkish guy. His cologne could likely ward it off and the Russian guy could kick ebola's ass. But, I wonder if living in a place full of trash where people shit and piss in the stairwells (yes, really) contributes.
