Don't remember when, but I got universe sandbox a long time ago, like 3-4 years ago, and they had a pay-what-you-want deal ($5 was the minimum, and if you paid more than $20, you got 3d glasses).

I bought it again after that, because I reinstalled windows and lost both the game and the receipt.

LOL, the suspense is killing me... my gut tells me I'm getting a big fat rejection email, because I didn't say enough about how I would help with bug testing (which I totally would, unlike all the kids who just want to play with it and never report bugs)

And it doesn't help that I have OCD. I mean it doesn't help with the suspense.

Everybody feels it. It isn't for fun, we must report bugs, as only as we can. But one bug-one report things are creepy. Alpha testers are hard job, but we feel we can do it!

Crap, I didn't say anything about reporting bugs... I figured it was implied that it would kind of be our job...

Also, I should have put a 5 instead of a 4 for interest in astronomy. I my not know all the math behind things, but I'm quite a bit more informed than the average person you grab off the street...

I put 5 for astronomy interest, considering that I have been reading space books since I was 5. And a 2 for other games, since the only other video games I like are minecraft and KSP.

I've heard that they want a diverse alpha testing team.

This is a critical moment in the game development. If the team does not choose correctly the alpha testers, they will have lots of people complaining about the game after it is released, unless the team is perfect, managing to avoid all kinds of bugs and thinking all of the critical features the game should have by themselves. Look at games such as BF4, which is so buggy (specially netcode and weapon balancing) because of lack of testing before the game launch. Because no human is perfect (even the awesome developers of US2), alpha testers should strive for helping the team, so they can build a great game.

I am pretty sure you don't need to pay for the alpha, but you have to make sure to report every bug you come across on the forums.
