Problem with Gravity
« on: June 21, 2014, 03:59:16 AM »
I have a problem with the severity of the objects never go into orbit! Why?

Now, I clarify: the problem is that when I try to bring an object into orbit a star or a celestial body orbiting not take him and he goes straight without a goal.
The setting page Sim does not open either, and this does not allow me to reactivate the gravity, not even when I'm crashing a celestial body fragments do not fall.
I do not understand, I hope that it is not just for me or else they are just unlucky...
Then when I open US2 Alpha 7 boot screen is inside the sun.
various images here:
this is the start

planets that can run without gravity

And collisions

Are you trying to make an object orbit a binary? Is that what you mean?

Hm, there seem to be some problems with the orbital properties interface, I can only increase value.

WitheHole18, could you try doing this? Does it orbit if you click the Binary Barycenter button before placing the body?

It looks to me like you might have clicked the No motion button, so all bodies you place will not orbit (this is what happens to Pluto in the video). Clicking the Binary Barycenter button should fix it.

No it does not work, the heavenly bodies just do not interact with each other

I used Fraps, but the free version can only record for 30 seconds
http://www.fraps.com/

But there are also some free ones you can use, like this:
https://obsproject.com/ (a bit complicated)
Or HyperCam:
http://www.hyperionics.com/

You can use them to record your screen while Universe Sandbox is running.

You need to go to
http://www.youtube.com/
Then if you have a Google account, click 'sign in' (if you aren't already)

Otherwise you need to create a google account, then sign in on YouTube with it, then click the upload button and choose the file on your computer that is the video.

I think I see the problem, the gravity strength multiplier is set to 0 but there's a bug or something preventing you from opening the settings panel to change it.

Hotfix is live... Alpha 7.a

If Steam doesn't automatically update, close Steam and relaunch. It should immediately download the update for Universe Sandbox ².

Look along the bottom of the window for Alpha 7.a, that means you've updated. If it just says Alpha 7, you're still on the original release.

Let us know if this fixes your problem.

But still there is no gravity
However, some problems have been solved.

here is a video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkSMCYUm5f0&feature=youtu.be

Could you please describe step by step, as exact as possible, how to reproduce this?

1. Open simulation XY
2. Add body XY
3. etc

Thank you

ok:
1) I open the simulator and I click New in the tab'' Home''.
2)The post any body.
3)I would add another body that is greater than or less than or equal size and mass.
4)The two / or more bodies move without interacting between them with the gravity.
It's strange,in the previous Alpha had never happened.

Could you please repeat this procedure, then exit the application and upload your output_log.txt?
Thank you!
