WIMP... Think it's an abbreviation for weakly interacting massive particles or something like that, if needed.
There is also another type of dark matter.

What is the particle that causes negative mass?
Title: Re: Physics: The World Explained
Post by: Naru523 on December 22, 2009, 06:04:06 PM
Ummm... exotic matter??
Title: Re: Physics: The World Explained
Post by: deoxy99 on December 22, 2009, 06:17:26 PM
Wrong.

Think about Anti. Add the thing that causes mass to anti-.
Title: Re: Physics: The World Explained
Post by: Bla on December 23, 2009, 02:26:53 AM
I think the closest you will come to "negative mass" would be the dark energy, which accelerates the expansion of the universe, like a force opposing gravity.
Antimatter doesn't have negative mass, but the antimatter particles have opposite charges of normal matter (positron = positive electron etc.), if that was what you meant by anti-. :)
Title: Re: Physics: The World Explained

You are wrong.

It is the Anti-Higgs Boson.
Aha, why hadn't I thought about that. Sorry. But have we ever observed something that could lead to this particle?
Title: Re: Physics: The World Explained

Find the mass and convert it. COme on, its just 10's! It's not binary.

2 10
4 100
8 1000
16 10000
32 100000
64 1000000
128 10000000
256 100000000
512 1000000000
1024! 10000000000

Off track!

Get on track question:

What is the thing that causes death?

(trick question)
Title: Re: Physics: The World Explained
Post by: Bla on January 26, 2010, 11:21:37 PM
Neptune's mass is 1,0243 • 1035 µg.

There is not one single thing causing death, but what would cause death fastest would be to make the brain and/or heart stop working, or stop them working together by seperating them. But if some of the other organs stop working, it can also cause death. And if the blood is unable to supply the cells with oxygen, perhaps because of cold or CO, or something else binding to the blood cells.

No, it was an answer to your "What causes death?". Doesn't that make sense that I quoted it?
