This is the board where you can openly share and discuss your feedback and ideas for the beta release of version 2.
The first beta release will be on Friday, November 13, 2009.

Did you change any of the textures for the galaxies?
Did you change the milky way map? ;)
If you did, do you mind showing us? :)

None of the textures have changed yet. The version on Nov 13 will primarily be about the main UI elements.
I hope you're not disappointed. I know it's been a long wait. :)

Well, it IS a beta.
It's not the full version.
But I do think you should edit the map for andromeda a bit.
Warp it's arms into a ring formation, since andromeda has been through many collisions which changed it's shape.

Either way, it's only the first of several beta releases.
And to be clear: We're using the word 'beta' in a very generic way. What we will be releasing next Friday is not a beta, according to Wikipedia it's pre-alpha (since it's not feature complete). For simplicity we're saying that beta = not done yet.

Probably, but the icon isn't displaying correctly. I think you'll like the way adding new bodies (planets, moons, galaxies) works now (and if you don't, let me know).

im looking at ya logos at the mo will give you some constructive feed back
plz tell me your keeping the GUI in US dark so it doesn't kill our eyes going from 1 extreme to the other
also can you put the logos on a dark background like your website so we can see what they might look like in that sort of setting
and to be truly honest i like your old logo i mean its already been imprinted on my mind every time i think of US i know to look for the u on my object dock

Yes. The beta will be a separate install.

Yes. It's still dark.
Is the light emitted by stars fixed?
It partially works. Currently you can toggle between the old system and the new, half finished star light system.

It's great to be part of the beta team. :)
Anyways, I will have to look into my email account a little bit more.
My studies are currently consuming a lot of time and they will continue doing it in the next years.
But I think I'll definitly have enough time to test the beta of US and give my feedback.
I think I gave my comment about the logos in the survey system yesterday and so far I have to say that
there were some interesting ones presented. I tried to rate the logos regarding recognition value as well as
expressiveness of the software's content.

dan in the new version can u add a option eg below
so if i have for eg 4 moons all have the same mass all are attracted to everything as normal but moon 4 repels moon 1 and 2 maybe have that cable feature on the first 1 so u can set it to a stick between the 2 or more bodys so they cannot move closer than a certain distance
it would make for some cool fun i could think of some brill things to have fun with this
my friend thought of it and i think it would add as a cool feature
just a thought for after it comes out
