I created a simulation of stars that orbit the likely black hole of the center of our galaxy.
Some of the stars reach a velocity of 6% of speed of light !! :o
For better viewing I suggest you change the Color Mode to Vivid and increase the Trail of 200 or above.
The reference to get the data to the simulation here:
Stellar Orbits Around the Galactic Center Black Hole

To see the movement of the real stars orbiting Sgr A go here:

UPDATE: to download the file of the simulation, please look the following post:

Thanks for sharing... Although the mass of the black hole is 26 Milky Ways and the other stars are moving at 10 times the speed of light!
(There aren't any constraints on speed in Universe Sandbox)
It seems like everything might be off by a factor of 100?

Thankx Dan,
Really, something wrong happen when I made the configuration file of this simulation.
But I correct it, later I will post the file with the real values.

No worries... I really appreciate you taking the time to share the simulation. :)

Is here, now the values are correct.
Look the Star SO-2 in your max aproximation with the black hole, the velocity is 2% of the speed of light !

Edit by Dan:
Put the file in this folder to open it in Universe Sandbox:
My Documents\Universe Sandbox\Systems

Awesome... That works great.
If it's cool with you... I'll modify this to add a simplistic representation of the MilkyWay galaxy around the simulation (to provide a sense of scale) and add it to the systems that are included with Universe Sandbox.

Sure Dan,
You are are free to use or modify the simulation as you like !

I found a website with more than just those. I found so-27 -49 and others at: http://www.astro.ucla.edu/~ghezgroup/gc/images/ just click on afew. can you make a sim with ALL?
