So I was fiddling with different buttons in US and this started happening and I recorded it.
I found these really cool ..well not sure what to call them. Just watch.
Gets really cool at around 6:40

Epic.

Epic.
Thanks! :D
-
Oh hey! I've done that!!
-
Very nice video. I've sent it to Dan to upload it into the website; i hope you'll agree.
-
Haha Awesome Neutron!
who knew there would be art in US. :D
Thanks FGFG!
-
I remember how I got it actually! I got that by putting a 3D grid around the moon, and turned color to velocity.
-
Yeah they are easy to do once you know how.
-
Its FUN!
I think I treid posting these before but the uploader was full.
Pic is zoomed!
<uploader full>

Be cool if others will try it out and show some crazy designs.
TIP: Increase planet density to give it more pull on objects! xD
-
Please add it to Watch User Videos list.
very nice video
-
Great video, I left a comment on i yesterday. :)
-
Yes. Thanks guys. I'm glad yo guys like it.
-
Why Editing my posts?
-
you double post alot. ;)
-
That video was great. I'll add it to the User Video section soon.
Awesome.
Something else to try... Add grids or rings around moons of planets (like the Earth's Moon or a moon of Jupiter).

Not to be rude, but...

Awesome Dan. Thanks.
I shall mess around with this effect on different situations and see the outcomes.
-
Or create a grid and then shoot a large planet (like Jupiter) into it.
And then change the color to velocity (like you've done before).
The first part of your video where you create grids around the Sun and end up with wild patterns is because the time step is too high. The particles end up with such a high velocity that they jump through the star and escape its gravitational pull. It's a limitation of the simulation that causes this and is not what would actually occur in reality.

Just restating the idea to be clear. The lack of acknowledgment was unintentional.
-
oic.
-
Yeah. Just neat how a high time step can give you some neat patterns
-
Here's the pic... large pic... :o

Very nice pictures.
-
Thanks. Very fun to try to make unique patterns.
-
... Fireworks!

... Fireworks!
Oooh... Aahhhh...
-
Didn't think it would be this popular! =P

And with the new version of Universe Sandbox that's in the works... You'll have better (and more obvious) tools that will make simulations like this even easier to create.
In fact... The next release will be the first time that Universe Sandbox will have an adequate toolbox for controlling the simulation unfolding in front of you. I can't wait to share it with everyone.
Didn't think it would be this popular! =P
That because it's awesome. :)
(although that claim comes with obvious bias)
And personally... the video was extremely satisfying to watch. It's very humbling to watch videos of Universe Sandbox created by people other than me.

We want α! We want α!We want α! We want α!We want α! We want α!We want α! We want α!We want α! We want α!
Well ofc, unless it's β...
Either way, WE WANT IT! ;D :D :) :) :D ;D ;D :D :) :o
-
Sounds awesome Dan.
Any more screenshots? :D
Also was the idea of being able to create instant asteroid belts?
Probably but I forget. xD
-
No alpha. beta or RC.
-
Remote Controlled?
I always thought it was
Alpha stage (very buggy)
Beta stage (almost complete, some things to touch up, and a few more bugs to fix)
Final release (um... you should know)
-
RC = Release Candidate ( Version with potential to be a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge. )
-
The video was removed due to the terms of use violation.
I wanted to see it!

Okay guys. Since youtube is a bunch of jerks I made a new account and reuploaded the video.
Just note it's the only video I have from my old account.

Awesome. Thanks!
-
Yep no problem!

You will lose all your videos if you register a new account. including your favorite.

If you create a new account it's simply a different account. Your old account is unaffected.
-
Technically I don't have an old account anymore as it's been completely deleted.
On topic: Expect a new video today possibly. Based if I am busy or not.
