First of all, 365 days with the earth alone does not work if you just start out with a blank slate. You are amazed how important all of the other planets and objects are in affecting the weather. So, even starting out at 365 days orbit does not mean you are in luck. Yes, your earth will be habitable, but it will be very variable. It will be hot around the equators, hot to the point of not being able to live for humans. The only way between the northern and southern hemispheres is by plane, but even so, you've got extreme portions of the earth. Imagine Siberia in horrid heat, while European Russia remains in constant winter. It is a livable winter for certain, but never comes spring. Europe is livable. South America, in certain parts, is habitable. Move the earth in, you have many of the same problems actually. Working with sun size is not simple, because the size of the sun does not correlate with the mass, luminosity, etc...it's why planets are so important with the 365 ratio at the beginning to start with.
Anyway, has anyone managed to has a smaller solar system with a shorter year, say half as long or no more than 250 days?
