Title: Hypercane
Post by: monmarfori on July 01, 2009, 12:29:36 AM
A hypercane is a hypothetical class of extreme tropical cyclone that could form if ocean temperatures reached around 50 C (122 F), 15 C higher than the warmest ocean temperature ever recorded.

Hypercanes would have wind speeds of over 800 kilometres per hour (500 mph) and would also have a central pressure of less than 70 kilopascals (21 inHg), giving them an enormous lifespan.
