I read an article yeasterday in the Astronomy magazine. It's A1689-zD1 we see it as about 3Gly distant but, the light is like from 13Gly, but is currently at 30Gly.

A1689-zD1 at 30Gly

Now... Betelguese is gonna blow soon! How bright will it be (magnitude or reference object)? And can it blind you if look at it?

Betelgeuse will explode in a supernova in the next thousand years.

Betelgeuse will explode in a supernova in the next thousand years.

Please be careful about making absolute statements that aren't supported by facts.

"Some astronomers believe it may become a supernova within a timeframe where it could be observable by human civilization."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betelgeuse

A better way of saying this would be:
Betelgeuse may supernova in the next thousand years.

Edit:
And how awesome is that. It could supernova tomorrow (~640 years ago), but probably not.
