I found US by google.
-
Technically I found it on Youtube and then googled it because it looked interesting.
-
I found it because someone wrote about it on EA's Spore forum (a gaming forum about (guess what) Spore).
It looked too interesting for me to stay away from it, though I think I was afraid of virus when I saw it... Or did I make someone who didn't know anything about it tell me a bad reason for it not to contain virus, just to make me calm down? No, I think it simply sounded too interesting, and the website was like glue. I'm very interested in astronomy and cosmology. :)
At least I was so lucky that it did not contain virus. I guess programs that contain virus wouldn't have forums anyways. Then people on the forums could tell other people about virus in the program. So...
Okay, I'll stop talking about virus now. US didn't contain virus.

hey Dan how did you come up with US?

Universe Sandbox is the result of many experiments and iterations of a basic idea. I've been wanting to make something like this for a long time and I've always been fascinated by how such a simple equation (Newton's law of gravity) can result in something so amazing.
I wrote my first very basic gravity simulator in 1993, expanded that in 1994, and again in 1997. A few years later I started working with 3D graphics and particles effects, but I abandoned the project before it became something more than working concept.

In 2007 I picked the idea up again, modifying a simple trebuchet concept that I was working on. This time I already had a physics library in place and was fascinated with watching spheres collapse into a larger structure. Over a weekend I modified the code to use real world units (instead of arbitrary values) and decided that it would make a good portfolio piece. After another few months of work I decided to post it on the internet and the response has been more positive that I ever expected. Since then I've added galaxies, clusters, chart mode, and dice orbiting bowling balls.
In the next few months I'll be releasing a new version with a completely redesigned user interface. This update will make Universe Sandbox easier to use and accessible to more people. I can't wait to share it with everyone.

i can't wait until you share it with us! ;D

lockergnome on youtube! Funny that he posted a video about it while I was trying to find something like this.

I was just looking for solar system simulators, and found it. I forgot how. Oh yeah... I found it on GravSim Forum and about a month later I found it on a search engine, and remembered it from GravSim. GravSim is awesome. Well... so is AstroGrav (full name not abreviation) ((Dan, if you don't want other Sims on here I'll take it off(Other than GravSim because that's your friend or something right?). Although I doubt it, cause you aren't competing))

I found it on Spore forum.
-
Wow that's great since tons of people visit that forum and the things are alike. I played Spore before I found this.

In youtube

Dan has been working on it since was 3! lol

I searched Google for Universe Simulator, and I found Universe Sandbox.
