Title: Random Planets with Lights?
Post by: MorgxProsser on August 23, 2018, 02:09:08 PM
So, I just came back on to US2 and I started to make a solar system, but when i placed a terrestrial planet, a bunch of random lights appeared on it. Does anyone know why?

Also, when i placed an atmosphere, the temp rose quickly (which is normal) but the lights disappeared when it hit 100°C, implying that the living things on it died...?

Also again, the lights don't match earths which is strange.

 ??? ???

There is a very small chance that random rocky planets will have city lights on them. There's debate over whether this is a feature or a bug... so it's up to you.  :D But regardless, it is purely visual and not really a sign of life or habitability. We plan to add basic life simulation in the future that will allow for simple vegetation to grow.

I like to see city light on planets because it makes planets appear to have cities on them. City light is not a bug. For life simulation, I would like to see greenery and vegetation grow on terraformed rocky planets.
