Title: My Systems
Post by: atomic7732 on September 04, 2010, 01:37:27 PM
How do you name your systems? Do you really even name them?

I felt like telling this. idk why.

I give them their original time designation, and then later view them to see if they are relevant for naming.

If they are, they get named "My System Name" After further reviewing, "My System" can get dropped off.

I just put "My System" or "Test System" or "Stuff" or something else.

If it's exoplanets I put a number and a constellation name if I want it to be bright.

Otherwise I don't know.

Any thoughts on how to improve the automatic names that are currently given to saved simulations?

What would you prefer the automatic name would be?

Hmm... Maybe the heaviest body in the system's name?

This is a good idea I think. Maybe [the heaviest body] System. Earth System, Sol System, Milky Way System to take some examples. Maybe that's not so good at all.

An ability to overwrite an excisting system when you save would be nice though, so you don't have to delete old saves.
