this is just a demo idea of the game i suggested on irc
there'd be a map like this probably with provinces but not necessarily, and it would probably be pavala or something similar
so i'd be like "ok go game starts in 1400 AD equivalent or w/e"
-
i'd be like:
ok the Soleani Tribe is <rgb code> and they are cool and good and great and they fish in their river but recently they've been expanding their influence and their leader Biplatza Sagpawej has diplomatically united themselves with some nearby tribe called Patakí and stuff
-
and then fiah goes
oh the <ethnic nautical peace precursor state> is cool and good and they eat nuts off trees and the crab king just got boiled, oh also, we just invented the printing press or something so now its influence will spread in your guys' following turns in the region and blah blah blah
-
and then years and years pass and it's like 1750 equivalent and some people have several nations and relations are established
-
and the game is fairly fluid so dar might go
Ganuo conquers some cities on the Auspikitan coast and things happen as a result
-
and then fiah might be like
the Nautical Peace doesn't like this extension of the sphere of influence of the Kingdom of Ganuo so we're gonna do some boat things and interfere with your trade a bit and maybe hire some privateers and i'm not posting a map because nothing on the map changed

ok
so idk i guess it might be kind of like a mix of world map game and map war 2 and those roleplay threads like when aeridani invaded equestria or kallisto invaded solea or whatever
like a really flexible game like world map game with the focus on roleplaying and fleshing out your nation(s) and relations between nations, but also i'm wondering how maybe provinces and some other creative restrictions might be able to be applied to add to maybe some strategizing and also worrying less about the unimportant stuff (for example, with provinces) like drawing the exact borders every turn, but also you could break constraints if necessary (say for marking important city-states or sub-regions)
i was thinking also maybe provinces could have things tied to them like certain types of resource production or something that just... idk influence whoever controls the province in their roleplaying somehow, ideas are welcome

map war 2 with a veneer of map war c on top (game 6 or whatever the most complex one was)
-
it's not map war 2 cause it doesn't have hard and fast rules
it'd be more like world map game which didn't really have rules and was before many of y'alls time (fiah, syule)
