Title: Add a diameter measurement to objects
Post by: Cesare on December 09, 2017, 02:01:27 AM
We all know that there is a radius parameter in Universe Sandbox 2, but that's not enough. I want to have a diameter measurement because I want to be able to measure the actual size of celestial objects, rather than measuring them from only the center to its surface.

Below I have attached two images which I have created in Paint. The first image show how the radius is calculated and the second images shows how the parameter is calculated.

The radius of Earth is 6,371 km

The diameter of Earth is 12,742 km

As you can see, the diameter is double the distance of the radius.

Universe Sandbox 2 needs to have a diameter measurement so that the size of celestial objects can be calculated by their full length in diameter.

Just... Multiply it by 2 mentally ?

There is a need for a diameter measurement.

Yes, I know how to multiply it by 2 manually, but it would be much better for Universe Sandbox 2 to immediately display the diameter of asteroids, moons, planets stars and galaxies by having a "diameter measurement".

Universe Sandbox 2 really needs to have a "Diameter Measurement" for measuring celestial objects across (shown in the second image).

I expect the "Diameter Measurement" to become available in Update 21.
