Title: Magnetic fields don't show up
Post by: Gordon Freeman on July 01, 2015, 11:55:38 AM
When turning on Magnetosphere for any planet, nothing happens. I've made sure the radius was more than the planet's radius so it wouldn't be hidden inside, and still nothing seems to change visually.

EDIT: Megnetic fields are only visible when a star is present.

it does show up for some planets but most likely they dont have all the relevant data to show it for all Objects ;) [M-Fields for Jupiter and Earth shows up] Try to mess With the Gauss and Planet Radii. that sometimes gets Things going

The display in game, is of the Magnetosphere, not the magnetic field. The magnetosphere is the balance between the field and the incoming solar winds. In the case of a simulation without a star, there's no clear equilibrium point to display the magnetosphere at.

We'd need to instead show the lines of the magnetic field itself. Though, that's not a feature we have implemented yet.
