Sadly I can't go out and try to get it on my telescope cause it's cloudy today :(

Tonight I took several pictures...
Among other things, I messed around with aligning images for a few minutes to see if I could detect the comet's motion and...

It moves!
The two images are spaced 14 minutes apart.
Tomorrow I'm going to try to do this over an hour or two with several pictures.

what about the barely known star you were talking about on irc

it's just above the leftmost of the three stars in a very flat V shape to the right of the comet
except it's 11th magnitude and the stacking didn't work great and the images are out of focus, so it's not really visible unless you know what you're looking for and even then it pretty much blends in with the background noise
you can see it in this picture from juliancolton, which is rotated nearly 90 degrees

tried 25 frames instead of 10

seeing was absolute crap but nonetheless with only 9 frames the tail was easily visible
