>Select desired lighting mode

Does this happen all the time or just in some simulations?
Are the other planets black?
This might be an issue with your graphics card or driver...
-
Well, The stars and all planets except for Gas giants appeared Black. Gas giants did not appear black. The sun appeared Black too. Thank you for your replies
-
here is a shot!!!

That actually looks pretty nice [can I haz!?], would like to see it as a feature/planet color in the near future.
Anyway, I think, like Dan said, your OpenCL may be incompatible/corrupted or outdated.

The bottom of the earth seems coloured, are you sure you are looking in the luminous face of the earth? (in front of sun)

This is a problem with the shaders (the drawing method) not working... where the clouds are using a much simpler method of drawing on screen than the surface of the planet.
It's also why Gas Giants work, as their drawing method is simpler too.
What kind of video card do you have in that computer?
