Hey, my thousandth post, guess I'll devote it to something important:
I launched US2 one day, but it said I couldn't play because Steam wasn't running. It was, though. I retried, no luck. I closed both programs and tried again, still no change. I even rebooted my computer, but there was no difference at all.
So I deleted US2 to download it again from Steam, but I can't find it in my Steam Games.
HALP MOI!!!!!!!!!!!!

Computer not compatible 100%

What are you talking about I could use it fine before. Now it doesn't want to work.

I say it's incompatible, perhaps with all the reboots that you do the damage.

That's not technologically possible. Can I get a person who has had experience with technology to answer?

I am, excuse everything breaks down or restarting it will wear out in time.
I think it is irreparable, however, post the log file.

This computer is less than one year old. And, no, that's not true. Software cannot be damaged by turning a computer off; That's ridiculous.
And how do I attach log files if I don't even have US2?
Can I get a dev to reply please?

look what i see you on steam, reboots continuously US2.

It's true the software does not wear out, but the hardware that runs software do wear out with restarting, a computer engineer tells you.
-
Are you able to run US2, if you turn your Wifi off (taking Steam out of the equation) and start it (US2) from the shortcut?
-
US2 doesn't work without Steam.
I just wiped my computer of all memories of US2 and Steam, redownloaded Steam, and now US2 doesn't show up AT ALL in my games.
-
Did you try to re-add the game (bottom left of Steam) with your (alpha) key?
-
the same thing happened to me some months ago. Then I just updated to the next alpha and it was ok
-
Did you try to re-add the game (bottom left of Steam) with your (alpha) key?
Yes. It prompted me to select "OK" to start the download. It didn't start any download, but a US2 shortcut appeared on my desktop. Opening it results in the appearance of 3 windows:
1. A permission grant for letting Steam access my computer (not sure why it keeps asking since it already has access)
2. Something similar to Window #1
3. A dialogue box informing that US2 cannot be launched because the executable is missing.
-
Are you running Steam as Admin?
(This sometimes works to get around permission issues)
To run as Admin from Steam - right click on the Steam Icon and select "Run as administrator"
To run as Admin from the US2 Icon - right click on the US2 Icon and select "Run as administrator"

Are you running Steam as Admin?
Nope. I should try that, but I don't exactly remember how.

If you're using Vista or newer then right clickt click on executable or shortcut and press «Run as administrator».
Are you tryin open game from Desktop shortcut or from Steam library?
-
1. I use Mac OS X
2. I tried both opening procedures, none worked.
-
is the problem still exist? i also use Mac OS X.
-
Yes. In fact, I can't even find it in my Steam Library. I've never been able to find it there, come to think of it. Maybe ti would be better if I just got a different Steam Key.
-
try clearing cache. sometimes work. or flush cache in terminal.
-
Universe Sandbox² is dependent on Steam, the only way you can download and play it, is if it's in your steam library.
I've seen you report bugs, so you were obviously able to redeem the key and download the game on steam's service. If you're having issue with the Steam service, you need to contact them directly, to see if there's an issue with your account.

If the game is showing up in your library, you can repair the installation by verifying the game cache.
