First of all, I'm so happy to get my hands on the testing process.
The thing I wanted to do when I first got my hands on the game was to re-create the formation of our solar system. I thought adding rings with appropriate mass etc would do the trick. However, I can't seem to add rings to the game. I press create and then nothing happens
-
Have you tried enlarging the rings? Saturn/Jupiter/Etc Rings would be too small to be seen. Enlarge it, I would do. (Currently off my computer :P)
-
you must apply it to an object
-
I just created a mini solar system and it worked...I'm trying to add rings by themselves..nothing else...maybe thats the problem
-
There is a button below all the technical options that says "Create". Try pushing it, and if nothing happens, you may want to restart the game.

Yes I think that is the problem. For you to be able to add rings, you must have a body selected already to add the rings to. If making an asteroid belt is what you want to do, add the rings to the sun and give them a large size.

Forsome reason the rings keep flying off into spacd and wont stay in orbit

The rings can take some time to build, additionally, the defaults for the ring amounts are too high. A reasonable number for a powerful machine seems to be 1.5k or less particles. You can experiment to see what works best.
We've also discovered a bug that will cause the rings to take a long time to build, due to errors that are happening in the background. (essentially, there are cases when the ring has 0 mass) as you can imagine that's going to cause some problems :D. That should be fixed in the next Alpha.

Thank's !

Fixed in the latest release, Alpha 8.3.
