Title: Tidal forces
Post by: Xriqxa on July 28, 2014, 09:33:33 AM
I think it's awesome what Georg is doing so far with tidal stretchings and disk flattening because of speed, but will tidal stretching eventually be able to simulate volcanic activity?

It would be amazing if it were to simulate volcanic activity during that, but i think it may be hard to implement.

Not actual visual 3D volcanoes, but how it is IRL, just pools of lava being pulled up from the mantle and cooling down if the tides cease.

I wonder if the tides will be able to tell the difference in between different weighing objects, like water and rock.

I didn't mean 3D volcanos, i meant it exactly like you just said it.

I would love to place the Earth orbiting Jupiter, and with time Earth start to be tidally locked.

I hope there is a button to toggle it,  It is awesome to break down planets but it is also fun to keep them in an unrealistic environment.

Orbiting Earth around a black hole is fun to do.

Plus, It would allow people with low end Pc to run the game properly.  ( I guess simulating all the planet deforming might requite a bit more power )
