Title: Question about the impact the program has on the computer system.

I use AMD's 8-core FX-8350 processor and a outdated video card (GT 220).  I am looking to upgrade my video card. 

I'm wondering how intensive the program is on the CPU and the GPU. I notice massive drops in frame-rates with high time-steps, galaxies, and various other things.  I understand the game is in alpha, but it truly isn't optimized and is a issue that should be addressed before it is released.  ;D
