I don't know about you, but I certainly don't like the name for our galaxy.  It sounds so childish and non-scientific, which is why we should think of a new one. The name must match our galaxy looking at the data (pinwheel galaxy looks like pnwheel, whirlpool galaxy looks like whirlpool, etc.). Reply with your names and the reason why you chose it. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. I'm thinking of Sagittarion, since the central black hole is located in the constellation Sagittarius. |

Milkymeda, Andromeda Way, Milkromeda and Milkomeda Elliptical, alternate names from the merger from the Milky Way and Andromeda. The Galaxy, our alternate name of our galaxy. The proposed name for our galaxy is Milky Way Spiral Galaxy. Milkomeda? ... Nah, it's gonna be named when Andromeda collides.
Tornado Galaxy? Heh, like Pinwheel and Whirlpool.
Beauty Galaxy? It is beautiful.
Solar Galaxy? I mean, it is the home of the solar system.

It seems they are false. Call Black Hole Galaxy, Like blackholes, but starless. Gravity Galaxy. A galaxy that moves fast and attracts massive galaxies. Gas Galaxy, A galaxy with no stars, but full of gases. |

I was naming new Heavy Cruisers ( Space Warships ) after Galaxies - we are currently building 40 of these in Attica Dominion alone.
I actually ran out of just ONE more Name for a Galaxy - so I thought,
"what about the Milky Way".
Now all of these have Latin-y Names for the Ships - like Lesser Magellanic - is "Magelanus Minimus"
Scluptor Dwarf - is "Sculptor Minoris". And for Galaxies like nnnn Two - is "nnnn Secundus".
From Milky Way - I got "Klim Avenuis".
I think that is pretty cool - or not ??
