Google Earth, WorldWide Telescope, Universe Sandbox, AstroGrav, GravitySimulator, NeutronStar, you're an astrofreak! Google SketchUp... That's great, I love drawing 3D in it aswell. Oh, wait, we were talking about the background?... It looks fine, but a little bit too colorless and without so many features of it in my opinion. Yes, the planets and the Sun and the eclipsed pics plus the Moon look fine, but I prefer a full image of a galaxy or something like das. My background is the Whirlpool Galaxy, my favorite! Consider it.

It's because it's binary. 2^10 is 1024.

Here's my desktop background. From: http://taenaron.deviantart.com/art/Decampment-116861620Backstory: Somewhen in past, mankind colonized the moon. The population grew up fast with help coming from earth. But as soon as they noticed that they are able to live autarkical, the people on moon wanted political independence. Of course, earth's United Nations declined this request. The result was the first war between both planetoides.
The people on moon could lean on enough resources and new materials. They developed new kind of engines, ships and weapons and that was why they were easily able to beat everything coming from earth. Earth lost its last resources to built up the colony on moon and had no chance to win this war. Their only hope was the invention of a huge nuclear weapon to destroy the moon as a whole.
Because the moon-people were not able to defeat the earth, they tried to find other solutions. After discovering the plans about the weapon they decided to leave the solar system. With the help of a re-activated core of the moon itself they would get enough energy for their planned engine.
The engine was finished and the journey into the unkown started. As a last message not to follow, the moon-people destroyed the capital of United Nations of Earth, Washington D.C..Its freakin epic

What are those things in Europe? I don't like that. I like Europe. Most parts of it at least. Maybe. More than the rest of the world. I think.

In 2584 those countries shouldn't exist. Not even the European Union. Earth should be one nation. I don't like this.

I would still like the Earth even if it was in crisis. It is my home. I might cry that everyone dies, but I would still like the Earth.

She looked at the impact of Humanity on the Earth, and decided to act. In 621 GAIA issued an ultimatum;live according to strict ecological rules, leave or be destroyed. Many hundreds of millions died in hopeless resistance against the evacuation, which lasted twenty years. The great space elevators were repaired and strengthened, hundreds of Lofstrom Loops were built in staggered formation around the equator, and laser-launched waveriders carried many more refugees into orbit. Once off the Earth the refugees were assimilated into the existing colonies on Luna, in Mars Orbit and elsewhere isn the Solar System, or left in great interstellar arks.
