Just curious to know what people's favourite planet is... It has to be in the solar system though Wink

Mine is Jupiter!

Saturn is NOT the only Planet which has Rings -
Jupiter and Uranus also have Rings - just not so notieceable.

It is an odds-on chance that ANY Gas Giant or Ice Giant will have Rings - and lots of Moons.
These Planets all have some of the characteristics of Stars - pulling in debris and forming their own Acrretion Discs.

Actually - they are also like Stars in another way.  They all Radiate more Heat than they recieve from their Stars - the heat is actaully caused by their own gradualy compaction, generating heat by compression and friction.
If they get massive enough, they will start to glow - and may start to become Stars, even if only Brown Dwarfs.

I didn't want to imply that the other planets didn't have rings with my comment, I just like Saturn the most because it has much more noticeable and impressive rings than the other planets in our solar system.

I've always had a love of Neptune.  Such placid looking surface belying the violent nature from no land.  Sure all the gas giants have all the qualities.  But to me, Neptune always looked the calmest.  Like a good lover who knows when you screwed up and is just waiting to unleash on you.   I also like Saturn, not because of the rings, but because it always looks "fuzzy" with its colors like a peach.

But my heart belongs to Neptune.  Hopefully there's no missing tests of wormholes near there (movie reference).
