LETS HELP STOP SOPA I think what might be fun is if Google and Yahoo delisted all of the companies supporting SOPA and PIPA. If you would use logic for a second, that is if you have any logic. Amazon and google both have implemented hyperlinking, and user biased content submissions. Under the SOPA and PIPA, any user biased content with even a tad bit of copyright infringement i.e; Songs playing in the background, logos, and other visible trademarks might lead there sites getting shutting them down under the new SOPA and PIPA acts. It’s pretty much common sense why they would implement a plan for blacking out there sites to rise awareness of this subject of SOPA and PIPA. I support the blackout. Not a banner, not a click-through, an actual blackout. This could be a wet dream come true for Microsoft. Bing free to search without Google doing a better job :p As a former member of BMG’s New Technology and Digital Distribution group. This is game, set, match on the labels. Major content providers must comply or die! Why, because we all know the big secret. They have no leverage because they blew it all messing up like this before with music, then video.. and now the whole damn internet. If the old guard won’t play by the new rules, well fine then, shut it down.. let them die, and let new people come in their place who have a sense of how to actually use the net, and not just exploit it for profit. Go ahead & try to pass this bill, Congress. See how many millions of angry people that you’ll be making & will be reaching for their phones to call their representatives about it.
I doubt that you’ll want to be in that situation.

I concur, let's show them what happens when you try something this idiotic. The fact that Wordpress powers a good slice (15%) of the Internet caught my attention there, I didn't even know that fact. There's also the fact that Wordpress could power sites OUTSIDE the us, which would anger more than just us citizens.

I meant US citizens, I was using iPhone so I didn't bother capitalizing it. Anyways, yea just about everybody that could possibly be affected by SOPA will be pissed off. Even iTunes could be affected I think by SOPA.
It's just even more incentive to throw out every congressperson and senator that agreed to this, if not all of them.

People on Facebook More than 800 million active users More than 50% of our active users log on to Facebook in any given day Average user has 130 friends
More than 75% of users are outside of the United States
50% of 800 is 400; 400 divided by four is 100. The US population is 300 (millions).
1/3 of the US population will notice Facebook is down.
It will be huge. And I'll cry with joy.

Just a correction, you forgot a 0 at "50% of 800 is 40;"
Anyways: Hopefully, the goverment wont ignore facebook, twitter, and the many other sites. If they do, well, there will be a lot of protesters (to convince them)

They will be, and theres a whole bunch of others, which happens at midnight tonight,
If congress/the senate doesn't notice, people are sure to be even more pissed. So, can't wait to see what congress's reaction is.

Check out the Google logo, they might not be able to do a black out, but they certainly have a way to participate.
