I like making the whole region large city tiles. It just makes it easier to deal with.

True, even though it's also good to have many cities to connect it to. I think this could be a good plan rather than making all of them large squares, then every city has 6 instead of 4 neighboring cities:

Sim City 4 !!

Whaaaa ??

I have got SimCity 3000 on my old PC - WITH the Building Architect add-on.   

You cain't get SimCity 3000 no more 
Aand the Building Architect was an add-on, which you cannot Download no more 

You can only Run SimCity3000 on Windows '98 or '95 - so that is why it is on my Old P.C., running in Windows '98.
I also have all of the Cheat Codes for that as well.
Lets you build Everything for Free, all types of Powerplants, all types of Waste Disposal, all types of Water Plants.
A Free $100,000 from a "money laundering" - and all kinds of extra goodies.

I have played it A LOT - and saved Lots of Cities from it.
