This is good idea and fairly easy to do. The tech is mostly in place. It's just a matter of models, textures, and modifying a few data files.

Does anyone know of any models or textures that are redistributable?

For comets I also want to make the tail look better, but that will not be in the next update.

in our solar system: spacecrafts there is comets. so make a comet trail in the next update.
