Hello everybody,

I'm new to this game, but I think it's awesome. Great game you've got going here! Keep it up Smiley However, I felt a few of the skins were lacking (only slightly and only a few!!) so I tried making my own. Here's only one of them, but if they are well received I'll probably make some more and more varied ones as well.

It stretches towards the top, but I know why and I'll be editing that as soon as possible. But this just a quick 5 minute one I did to see how it'd look in game (near a bright sun for effect):

Thanks.

Thanks.

I am currently working on trying to make the image stretch to match polar coordinates so it doesn't distort in game.

Anyone know of any good programs/plugins to do this?

EDIT: Sorted. I have some more textures on the way!

Photoshop has a good polar coordinate distortion filter, that might do it. Will
distort an image into polar coordinates. I like the image, do more pls Smiley

Ok, here's another.

It's darker, but has more detail and bumpiness. Personally I prefer the first one, but I am still experimenting. I am doing different colours next time... Should be done soon.

Thanks.

Yep, for the first one I used just Photoshop. But the Polar Co-ordinates distortion doesn't match the games stretching for the planets.

So, I am now using Photoshop in collaboration with PLED (Planet Editor, free) to create the second one you see. However, it's hard to create varied ones (like definable oceans, etc.) so far, but I am trying to work around that using Photoshop's layer adjustments, etc.

Thanks Smiley

Thanks!

I'll be sharing how I've done them soon, because once you find the right plugins and software, it becomes surprisingly easy!!

More soon, but probably not until tomorrow.

EDIT: Furthermore -- I'll be releasing a pack of these soon when I've made enough so people can start trying them out for themselves, see what they're like.

I love how all these threads say they will post a pack next week, but never get around to doing so.

Lol thanks Dan. I tried making one, but I didn't realise you had to go polar to rectangular then back again.
