Kepler, undoubtedly the best planet finding telescope ever has had some amazing discoveries...

New findings from kepler... Over 1,000 planet candidates... 54 of them should be habitable... AND it's ONLY the first FOUR months!!! Kepler... you very successful telescope. Grin

http://www.space.com/10742-kepler-exoplanets-data.html

Think about it... Kepler-1191 j Tongue

Also it found TROJAN planets... the flip?

I also have just created a system for KOI-70, which has a habitable planet. KOI-70.03 has a temperature of 333 K, so it could have habitable moons, or it could be itself habitable.

Yes, one of the stars is Hiiro!
1,000 planets? That's pretty impressive. Looks like this decade will be good.

5 planet system of Kepler candidates KOI-500.01 .02 .03 .04 and .05

Planet types are estimated... as you know the odd planet types we have no idea about that exist.

This system is alot like Kepler-11 in the fact that all of their orbits are inside Mercury... and they are all larger than Earth... These systems aren't so rare after all. The more we study, the more we find out... Our solar system... is nothing of the average. We are the oddballs of the universe... I wouldn't be surprised if these systems find a "solar system"-esque system around these tight packed systems... Then we won't have near as many planets as them... It'll be like 14 to 8.

On the bottom is an image of the two planets that are " Strong probability candidate, cleanly passes tests that were applied". Note that bodies shown at real size is on. We know you can see that every time because we can see both pass in front of their star from our perspective.

It's actually quite funny and weird that the Solar System has the highest amount of planet, habitable planet/life, and planetary rings.

Only because we do not have technology that can see enough planets... Kepler can probably find a 9 planet system inside the area of venus's orbit around a sunlike star.

Who wants to bet me that it can't in the next 2 years?
