The today APOD is about the encounter:

The strange texture os Hartley 2 are cited and is propose that like some asteroids maybe Hartley 2 are a "rubble-pie" comet ( if it is so, itīs the first one detected ).

A think that a rubble pie comet not be very old in inner solar system cause your tendencie to fragmenting are high !
