Hahahah. i have a problem. Now I have Ubuntu/Linux, and I can't post it up. hahahhaa. OpenSolaris won't let the downloads open, which is not making me happy. So Let's try Ubuntu (I need a UNIX based system to run atmopheric simulations, stupid people have to make it that way)

Should have split the first option into three IMO.

Anyways, I'm using Windows 7 here.

Windows Vista, used to use an Apple OS (not sure which one) at college and I am well acquainted with the wheel of death.

Windows 7 64-bit on desktop, Windows Vista 32-bit on edu laptop.

I really like the idea of Linux, bit I'm too scared to even think of getting it.

Windows XP SP2. Yes, I'm stuck in the past, but Vista was horrible, so I just assume 7 and any other system after 7 will be too. Tongue

Yes, but I'm only going to move when my system becomes absolutely obsolete, where no more software released will work on it. Tongue

I don't know why people don't like Vista. It's absolutely sound in my opinion.
Now Win 7, I find it's window snapping annoying.

Vista and 7 take so much space on your computer. The space it takes would equal XP + 10 large games. Tongue Exaggerated, maybe. Tongue

Well, Windows 7 does have more stuff than XP, thats part of it. Still, Vista is worse than both XP and Windows 7.

I also think that the fear of Vista has become a meme, which people mostly believe because it is repeated all the time. I don't think it's that bad, but I think Windows 7 is better. My laptop isn't fast (it was probably good specs when it was new), but it has run with very few errors (nothing compared to my desktop) for about 4 or 5 years now, I think.

Not even close. If you want to do normal daily stuff it's exactly the same. Which means people are spending countless pointless outrageous amounts of money on Vista and 7 and Mac.

Someone at school has Linux, but he's also very good at programming.

I'm just afraid that I'll bork Windows or lose all my stuffz if I install it. Or something. I haven't tried installing an OS before.
